Design and Production Assistant

Role Summary:
High Minded Events is in search of a Design and Production assistant to support the Executive Producer and CEO in the design, planning, production, management and lead and execution exceptional cannabis-focused events. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of the local cannabis market, regulatory landscape, and a network of professional event resources.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Outreach to professional event resources for optimal event execution. 
  • Understand and comply with local cannabis regulations during event planning and execution.
  • Organize and execute local events for cannabis brands with precision and adherence to budgets.
  • Demonstrate excellent spatial planning and time management skills.
  • Seek out venues and opportunities for various events including client events, product launches, and field marketing activations.
  • Ensure utmost professionalism in managing vendors and sponsors throughout the event planning and execution phases.
  • Represent HME brand values with positivity and professionalism at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • A keen eye for detail and a genuine love for the cannabis plant.
  • Safety-conscious mindset.
  • Proactive, self-motivating with expertise in using Google Drive.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be 21 or older.
  • Valid driver's license with a reliable mode of transportation.
  • Must pass a background check.

Working Conditions:

  • Remote job with 2-6 months of preparation for each event.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.


Compensation:

  • $25 per hour, Part-time (4-8 hours per week), 1099 position with potential for full-time employment.
  • Mileage reimbursement at federal rates.
  • An additional 10% commission on all sponsorship and event sales.

Budtenders

Budtender

High-minded Events Budtenders and Educators engage in one-on-one interactions with guests at private events. Budtenders educate guests about cannabis selections provided by the event host and guide them through mindful consumption. Budtenders and Educators representing High-minded Events are expected to abide by the highest of professional standards, delivering courteous and attentive service at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Assist guests in intimate event settings.
  • Utilize product and consumption-method knowledge to successfully recommend a safe and effective dosage for mindful social consumption.
  • Assure that the work space remains clean and clear of clutter.
  • Monitor Consumption at private events.
  • Prevent Overconsumption at private events.
  • Address Overconsumption at private events.
  • Assure all consuming guests are 21 years of age.
  • Play an active part in guest education on products, methods of consumption, and safety as part of guest interaction
  • Maintain clean and sanitary accessories for cannabis consumption.
  • Provide necessary support to cannabis bar teammates, assuring fluid and continuous service.
  • Promote a work environment that is positive, communicative, education-oriented, and compliant with Illinois law.
  • Set up and take down of cannabis bar equipment

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of customer service experience; preference for candidates with specialty, customer-facing experience
  • High school diploma, or equivalent
  • Consistent demonstration of excellent customer service skills
  • Desire to continuously learn (more) about cannabis, cannabinoids and the endocannabinoid system, --previous knowledge a HUGE plus!
  • Ability to listen well and effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with various audiences
  • Understanding of applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations as they pertain to the industry, personnel law, safety regulations, local municipal codes and organizational rules, regulations, directives and standard operating procedures

  • Complete Responsible Vendor Training
